Whichever you will hear more. They differ about as much as British and American English: some vocabulary, the vosotros form, and a few sounds. Everyone understands everyone. If you have no reason to choose, Latin American (Mexican or Colombian) is spoken by far more people and its pronunciation is a little simpler for English speakers. You can mix input freely; your accent will settle towards whatever you listen to most.

Use the calculator in the progress section. The medians: B1 around 400 hours, B2 around 700. At one focused hour a day plus some passive input, that is roughly 13 months to B1 and 2 years to B2. Double the daily time and you roughly halve it. Nobody reaches B2 in "3 months," but a determined person putting in four hours a day can reach a solid B1 in about four months.

Logged hours give the median estimate; your real level can sit a band above or below it. Check it at each stage boundary with a free placement test: the Instituto Cervantes online level test, Kwiziq's Spanish placement, or the CEFR self-assessment grid (can you do the "can do" statements without preparing?). If you want a certificate, DELE B2 is the one employers and universities usually ask for; sit it around 600–700 hours after doing three past papers under exam conditions.

No. It is a habit tool, not a language course: after A1 its sentences are too short and too random to build comprehension, and it never makes you produce real language. Use it for five minutes if it keeps you engaged, and put your real time into input, Anki and tutors.

Around 60–100 hours, once you can follow a beginner video comfortably. Before that you have too little to build with, and pushing output too early tends to cement English-shaped sentences. After that, don't delay: fear of speaking does not decrease by waiting, only by speaking.

Nothing. Comprehension always leads production by a wide margin; that is how first languages work too. The gap closes with output practice: tutor sessions, narrating your day aloud, shadowing, and writing. Move speaking and writing to 25% of your time and the gap narrows within two months.

Yes, lightly. Adults benefit from knowing the pattern exists; it lets you notice it in input, which is where it is actually acquired. What does not work is treating grammar as the main course: hours of fill-in-the-blank exercises produce people who know the rules and cannot talk. One unit every few days, then go listen.

Forgetting is the mechanism, not a bug: the algorithm shows you a card right around when you would forget it, so a 10–15% failure rate is the target. If you fail far more, your new-cards setting is too high, or your cards are bare words with no sentence. Add context, cut new cards, and keep going.

It is a mood you already have in English ("I suggest that he be here," "if I were you"), just used more. Learn the forms in a week with the drill here, then learn the triggers by family. The forms will feel automatic after you have heard quiero que vengas a few hundred times in input, which happens sooner than you think.

Enormously effective from B1 up, because you can convert every interaction into input and practice. At A1 it is mostly stressful and people switch to English. If you can only go once, go at around 300–400 hours, for as long as possible, and refuse to speak English.
